Businesses begin to use the internet as their secret tool during the recession

The recession has already claimed many businesses, which is why companies need to be at the top of their game to survive the economic downturn.

"Blogs and other inexpensive online social-media tools are the most powerful means of growing a business, for those who learn how to wield them," says James Watt co-founder of Brewdog in a recent interview. "If you are competing against big companies, you have to use every means at your disposal to get your message out there and tell people why you're different." The internet is the perfect weapon to do so.

The internet offers many alternatives to the traditional marketing tactics, Jonathan Weber founder and editor in chief of NewWest.Net commented in a recent interview that "in the internet business, online advertising is expected to continue growing, even though ad spending is usually a major casualty in a recession". It is crucial that in the recession companies are recognising the importance of their marketing and brand recognition." From the years 1980 to 1985 a study of 600 B2B companies, found that firms who maintained or increased their advertising spend during the recession enjoyed significantly higher revenue growth both during and after the recession.  Moreover, by 1985 those firms' sales had risen 256% over that of the rest of the field. There are new websites that have appeared during the recession that can help businesses do just this, theTrainingpod.com  launching February the 14th provides Independent Trainers and Training Providers with the means of showcasing themselves to Companies. Companies are then matched to trainers/providers that meet their training requirements giving them access to better training resources than traditional offline media have previously been able to offer. Fiona Hudson-Kelly founder of thetrainingpod.combelieves that the current economic climate will force companies of all sizes to review their training expenditure and many will turn to the web to find better value, more innovative solutions which is why the Trainingpod.com is ideally timed to launch next month.

Using the web to connect Companies and trainers to one another, the network is free to join and completely free for companies, we take a small fee from trainers/providers once they have secured work through www.thetrainingpod.com To register at theTrainingpod visit www.thetrainingpod.com
